R&R Mixes

R&R mixes is a music player where songs are sorted by genre and popularity. A user can listen to the tracks of R&R World by choosing a preferable square block

Top artists - songs based on R&R World Artist chart.
R&R Fresh - just uploaded tracks to R&R World.
R&R Daily - random songs sorted by current day.
Rock from R&R - top rock hits from R&R World artists.
R&R Pop - the best song from R&R World pop artists.
Jazz&Blues Mix - jazz and blues hits from R&R World artists.
R&R ElectroMix - the best electro and new age tracks from R&R World.
Classical Tunes - the classical and inspirational tracks of R&R World.
Folk&Country Mix - the best of R&R World tracks in country, folk and inspirational genres.

How it works
Step 1) To view the “R&R Mixes” page, click on the “Discover” tab on the navigation bar and choose “R&R Mixes” in the drop-down menu.
Step 2) Hold your mouse over the mix picture and click on Play button to start listening.
Step 3) (Optional) Click on the “arrows” of the drop-down menu in the “Current Mix” bar to view the artist profile, bookmark the track, buy/request to buy the track, sync request.

Competitions

R&R World will periodically offer innovative and highly rewarding competitions, which require users to show off their talents and hard work. The users and members of R&R World will decide competition winners, and the R&R World management teams will choose others. Use these competitions to win great opportunities, which can really help jump-start a career.

My Band, Your TV - Artists have to submit their music video in high-quality to the competition page and get as much votes as possible to get into the top 3 videos which will be chosen to be featured on My Band TV, which reaches over 120,000 viewers each month.

BlockBuskers - R&R World user submits 1 YouTube video of a street busker (filmed by the user) to the competition and adds a short description/story.In the end of the month a user with the most number of votes gets a prize.

Melt My Face! - If you are a guitar player then this is the competition for you. User submits a video of himself performing any song or solo on any type of guitar that shows his skills and talents. The audience of R&R World will vote for the videos and the top 3, which get the most number of votes, will get cool prizes.

Cover Them! - This is a video competition where users submit their own videos of themselves covering songs they like. R&R World users vote for the videos and in the end of the month the video with the most number of the votes wins.

Jukebox Junky - It’s a playlist competition where R&R World users create playlists for one of our predetermined themes and then  the music lovers of R&R World decide which songs and playlists fit the themes best. The playlist with the most number of votes wins.

 

How To Enter

Step 1) To enter any of the current competitions, simply click on the “Competitions” tab on the navigation bar and choose the competition you would like to enter
Step 2) Follow the instructions, which will appear on the screen after you have clicked on the link.
Step 3) (Optional ) If you would like to see the list of all competitions you can visit the “All Competitions” page.

Charts



R&R World provides charts which display the top artists and music not only on the R&R World website, but also in the music industry on an international level.
Use these charts to keep track of current trends on R&R and to stay up to date with the most popular songs in the world.





All Artists that had at least 1 play of their song on R&R World can see their chart position right on their profile. The Chart information is updated weekly and shows current chart position and the estimation for the next week.

Search

The search tool gives users the ability to search for any Artist, Music Lover, Professional, Group, or Venue based on various criteria. These criteria include name, location, and overall text located on all profiles on Arena. This feature is designed to give users an easy way to immediately locate the profile of any user or group on Arena. Users can also use this feature to find new friends and music.

How to Use it

Step 1) Locate the search bar at the top right corner of the home page.
Step 2) Enter the name/location/word(s) you want to search for.
Step 3) Click the “Search” icon.
Step 4) All relevant search results will then be displayed on your screen for you to browse.
Step 5) Once you find a profile you wish to view, simply click on the users name or photo and you will be brought to their profile.
Step 6) To go back to the search results page just click on the “back” button on your web browser.

Music Map

The Track Listening and World Map feature allows all users to view what songs are currently being listened to and where they are being listened. Users can view what songs are being listened to in different countries or even cities. This is a great way for artists to see what countries their music has popularity in, so they might pursue a stronger promotion of their music to that region. This feature also helps brands and companies to see what music is popular is certain areas of the world that they might be interested in creating adverts or commercials in, or branding themselves in.

How To Use It:

Step 1) Click on the icon of a globe with headphones over it.
Step 2) You are brought to a web page containing an interactive map of the world. At the top of the page select which category of map/info you wish to view.
Step 3) Click on any headphone icon on the map to view the details of that location. You can view what songs are being listened to currently or the most overall.
Step 4) Click on any song title to also listen to any tracks being listened to.
Step 5) To close any locations box, simply click the “X” in the top right corner of the window.
Step 6) Click and browse as many locations as you desire.

Gig At Ours

Gig At Ours is a new feature and widget which allows fans to request bands and artists to come perform in their town. This feature also helps artists see how strong of a demand they have in different parts of the world. This is a great tool for both fans and artists alike, which can be used not only on Arena, but also Myspace, personal blogs, band websites, etc. Fans can even add a widget for their favorite artists on their profiles and webpages in order to help support them and get their friends to help bring the artist to their town.

How To Use It
(Fans)
Step 1) Locate an artists profile or webpage which contains a Gig At Ours widget box, and click on the tab "Request a gig!"
Step 2) You will be brought to a page that asks you to confirm your location, or change it. Once you do so, click "Go".
Step 3) You will then move on to a second page which asks for your name, email address, and gives you the option to leave a message for the artist or a message to encourage other fans to "request" a gig in your area by the artist. Click "Go" once this has been done.
Step 4) You have now requested the artist to perform in your area. This will be confirmed by the page that appears after Step 3. On this page you will see how many other people have requested the artist to perform in your area. 

Step 5) (Optional) Also on this page, you have the option to add a Gig At Ours widget to your own profile or websites via an html code. Read below on how to do this.

How To Set Up And Use

(Artists & Users)
Step 1) Click on the link for Gig At Ours on your profile page, below your profile picture. (For fans who want to add an artists widget to their profile or website, simply click on "Request Gig" on an already existing widget for the artist as well)
Step 2) Click on the tab "Get Code".
Step 3) Select the background color, size and whether or not the widget is being added to a Myspace page.
Step 4) Copy the html code which is automatically generated at the bottom of the page.
Step 5) Paste the code in the correct area for html code input on your profile, website, or blog.

  • The pictures used for your Gig At Ours widget are taken from the first 10 pictures of your photo album on your Arena profile page.

Groups

Groups are created by any Arena member, and pertain to a specific subject such as a certain band, style of music, or an idea. Members join groups if they find interest in the subject of the group, and interact with the other members of the group by sharing their thoughts and ideas with one another.

How To Use/Join Them:

Step 1) Search for groups using the general search method (as mentioned above), or click on the “Groups” tab on the navigation menu at the top of the home page.
Step 2) Once you have clicked on the “Groups” tab, browse the various categories of groups, and click on one that interests you.
Step 3) A search results page will appear with a list of all the groups on R&R World that are listed under that particular category.
Step 4) Click on the name of any group to view the groups profile page.
Step 5) If you find a group that you want to join, on the left side of the profile page click “Join This Group”.
Step 6) You are now a member of this group and can post messages on the group wall and upload photos to the group profile page.
Step 7) To view all the groups you are a member of, click the “My Groups” tab on the navigation menu at the top of the website at any point.
